Leia Browning

Director of Choirs

Leia Browning has been a high school choir director for 16 years. After coming to Rockwall HS in 2012, she has become increasingly excited to work in the world of a cappella. In 2015, her show choir “Walk the Line” started venturing into the world of contemporary a cappella when they decided to compete in ICHSA for the first time. Since then, they’ve left the “show choir” label behind, and have accomplished quite a lot in a short time, including four trips to ICHSA Semifinals, a trip to ICSHA Finals in 2017, and first place and numerous special awards at TVAC in 2019. In addition to competition, “Walk the Line” completed their first album in May of 2019 and has been featured on BOHSA 2019 and 2020, Voices Only 2019, and has been nominated for 3 CARA awards for “Best Scholastic Debut Album”, “Best High School Album”, and “Best Scholastic Arrangement - Tomas Padron”.

Leia is a member of TMEA and TCDA and enjoys working with groups from all across Texas. She attended TVC’s “NextLevel Direct” seminar in the summer of 2018, and continues to teach rehearsal strategies based on what she learned there.
